Summer Programs
The Office of Human Resources has created formal processes for CMU's department-run summer programs to ensure a consistent and fair experience for all participants, including employees and collaborating visitors. This includes:
- Checklists for program preparation, timelines, letter templates and resources for hiring
- Decision trees to assist with the collaborating visitor process and non-qualifying scholarship payments
Programs include REUSE, RISS, SUAMI and others. For more information regarding specific programs, please contact your HR business partner.
- Summer Scholars Programs are offered June–August.
- Compensation for these programs is paid as a nonqualified scholarship.
- Those participating in the program are considered collaborating visitors rather than paid employees.
